British Values
The British Values play a very important role in our school. We explore what it means to be British by writing speeches about the values. We then presented some of the best ones to our Mayor. We have also had many assemblies in which we discussed our British Values. All this learning about Great Britain and what it means to be British culminated in our British Values Day. During this amazing day, every class in our school used their art, writing and debating skills to produce excellent work which we displayed all around the school. British Values have helped us to consider who we are and it has helped us to define what makes our country such a special one.
According to Ofsted, ‘fundamental British values’ are:
- Democracy
- The rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.
At St Saviour’s we uphold these core values and along with our own set of Values aim to instill these in our children, teachers and the wider community. We are all very proud to be British.
